Finless (Working title)
Finless (working title) is an artist exploration of the shape of DNA organization.
DNA sequences are classically displayed as a series of linear letters. However, in actuality, these strands form intricate three-dimensional shapes. Letters that on paper appear far apart may actually be nearly touching. In addition, the organization of DNA creates beads on a string—regular, repeating forms rarely seen in nature. This project explores those shapes and using the forces that create them as a generative way to create compositional structure. It then shows how these forms appear create and compare to the larger structures they create.
